FA Cup semi-final draw pushes United further towards season without European football... and closer to Woodward's idea of globe-trotting glamour friendlies
Sunday's FA Cup semi-final draw had giant ramifications for
Manchester United despite the fact David Moyes' side will not be
making a trip to Wembley this year.
Father and son duo Ian Wright and Shaun Wright-Phillips announced
that Hull City will play Sheffield United, with Arsenal facing a tough
task against one of last year's finalists in either Manchester City or
Wigan and in doing so confirmed that seventh place would no longer
claim a place in next year's Europa League.
Should United finish seventh it could see Ed Woodward's idea of
glamour friendlies across the globe to fill weeks previously
dedicated to European nights to make up the shortfall.
