Nigeria Police & Checkpoints

At exactly 12:30 pm yesterday, i decided to go check out at least one police security check point.I concluded on visiting a check point located at the Miliken hill axis of Enugu state.

I stood at a distance and watched closely, i observed that the patrol van parked along the road had the inscription on it that read thus 'DONATED BY ENUGU NORTH TO NEW HAVEN POLICE'. I asked my self,what will a new haven patrol van be doing at miliken hill?, Is there no police station to cover that area? its left for them to answer.

I discovered that the police where more interested in the miserable bribe they collected from commercial motorist especially the KEKE drivers.

They don't even stop private vehicles at least to do a search. i just stood and watched the pain these commercial motorists suffered in their hands, wondering why these checkpoints shouldn't be closed down.

From my own point of view i think Nigeria security check point is more of another business avenue for the police than SECURITY.
