I cant stand a stingy boyfriend: OMA IYASARA

Oma Dinara Emmanuella Iyasara is an extraordinary, emerging talent, with a unique combination of good looks, enterprise, a good command of English with sophisticated diction. In 2011, she enrolled in the prestigious Royal Arts Academy owned by Emem Isong and she excelled as one of the favourite students in her time, with a certificate of excellence. A graduate of Mass Communication from Imo State University, Oma has featured in a number of blockbusters like ‘Damage’ by Uche Jombo, ‘Secret Weapon’ alongside Eucharia Anunobi, Emeka Ike and Chika Ike among many others. Beautiful, buxom and bold Oma told Potpourri she would not take lies, disrespect, violence, arrogance and stinginess from her man. “Well some guys can be disrespectful in the sense that they can speak to you anyhow, even in front of friends and family. When it comes to arrogance, maybe I should substitute that with ego. I can’t stand being in a relationship with one who is proud and sees himself as superior, and never admitting when wrong” she explained. “ And I can’t stand a stingy boyfriend” she continued. “ I am a girl, I have needs like hair, cosmetics etc, at least once in a while without asking, my man should notice I need a new hair, or I need to get gifts, no matter how little. Then, violence just doesn’t work for me”.

I hate men that stand on my way to success:ELLA MARTINS

Ella Martins is a top Beninoise musician and actress who became popular in Nigeria after news about her and Genevieve Nnaji went viral that they are lesbians. Ella, who vehemently denied the allegation in a riveting interview with Potpourri said she has not known peace since that piece of news hit her country as many of her fans believed the story. Proving her own side of the story that she is straight, Ella mentioned she had dated Congolese mega star, Fally Ipupa and even stated she is in a secret relationship with a president of a country, while discounting the rumour that she also once dated former President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria. No doubts Ella is hot, and seems well-heeled both in the front and the rear, with an endearing nature that could get as sneaky as it could get disarming. If all allegations hanging over her neck are untrue, what is worth taking to the bank regarding the ‘Chocolat Baby’ crooner is her wealth of experience when it comes to relationships. She shared her thoughts with Potpourri when she was asked the five things she cannot stand in her man. “ I can’t stand men that lie because they can never be trusted. You never know what they are doing behind your back. I also hate cheats. I want my man to love me and only me. I don’t want to share my man with anyone” she said. “Other things I can’t stand are men who don’t take care of their physical looks. They are a major turn-off for me. Then, there is a set of men who can’t stand your success. These are encumbrances to your life’s visions and goals. I simply hate men who stand in the way of my success because I am a very ambitious woman” she added.

Ebola: Private Hospitals Reject Patients With Fever Symptoms

Some private hospitals in Lagos yesterday Tuesday August 12th rejected treating patients who visited them with symptoms of fever as part of measures being taking to prevent contracting the Ebola virus.
A visit by the News Agency of Nigeria to some hospitals in Lagos Metropolis showed that nurses and other health workers, including cleaners were seen wearing face mask and gloves while attending to patients. Continue...

Also, some of the health facilities were compelling patients to wash their hands and apply sanitisers before proceeding into their building.
Some of the hospitals visited included Jaycee Hospital, Prime Hospital, Lifeline Children’s Hospital and Providence Hospital.
A Neurologist at Jaycee Hospital, Dr. Francis Ojini, told NAN that his hospital did not attend to patients who had with fever.
Ojini said that it became necessary as health workers were at greater risk of contracting the virus.
“Health workers are the first to be in contact with patients who visited the hospital and so it is necessary we take precautions.
“For now, any illness that has to do with fever is not being attended to as we are trying to be careful because of the new development of the Ebola disease.
“If there is need, we refer patients we feel we cannot treat. We hope we are able to curtail the spread in order to save lives,” he said.
A nurse at the same hospital, who pleaded anonymity, said that nurses wore facemask and gloves when any patients visited the facility.
He said: “We are protecting ourselves from contracting a deadly disease that has no drug or vaccine at the moment.”
Allso speaking, the Medical Director, Lifeline Children’s Hospital, Dr. Uche Owowo, said that his hospital was making hand sanitisers available for patients.
Owowo urged the Federal Government and other civil organisations to intensify awareness programmes to educate the masses about the disease.
“Many people still need to know more about the disease, how it can be contracted and how to prevent being infected.
“I believe educating people and making the facilities available and accessible will encourage people to be cautious,” he said.
Efforts to speak with the medical directors and other health workers of Prime Hospital and Providence Hospital proved abortive as they refused to comment.

jim iyke shares his view on successful ladies and why men fear toasting them

Below is what he wrote on his instagram page "Women are like apples on trees, the best ones are on the top of the tree. The men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and don't want to get hurt. Instead they get the cold manipulating easier climbs. So, the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top because they value quality away from d spotlight.

I USED ROBBERY PROCEEDS TO TRAIN MY DAUGHTER

A member of an armed robbery gang who gave his name as Afeez said he used the proceeds he got from armed robbery to send his daughter to school. Afeez and his partner Wasiu were apprehended recently by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, Lagos at a checkpoint in Mushin while on their way to an operation. According to the police, the young men boarded a taxi at Oshodi around 11pm and were heading to Mushin when they came across a police checkpoint. Seeing the police checkpoint ahead, they became jittery, commanding the cab man to stop them and even tried forcing the door open. The taxi driver suspecting that they were criminals drove quickly to the police checkpoint where he immediately intimated the police officers of his suspicions. A local made gun was discovered on them. Continue... Confessing to armed robbery, Lekan who says he is married with a daughter said he took to armed robbery a year ago "Iam from Osun state, I am married, I have a daughter, I joined the gang 12 months ago, I have participated in five robbery operations within Lagos and Ogun states. I have not made much from the robbery operation. Sometimes, I make N20, 000, N15, 000 or N30, 000. I also make money from selling phones, gold and valuables we steal during operations. I was selling Indian hemp at Ojuelegba before the Aiye cult boys forced me to join them, that was how I started robbery with the gang. I was a cobbler when I lost my mother, I could not continue because there was nobody to support me. I have worked as a bus conductor for more than nine years; I sold Indian hemp for three years before I joined the gang last year when Legba introduced me to the gang. We only use the guns to scare people during operations. I have never killed anyone and I have never raped anyone. That night, Legba called me on phone to come to Oshodi. When I got there, he gave me a gun to take to his wife at Mushin but on our way, police arrested us. I knew him when I was selling Indian hemp but I didn’t know that he was an armed robber. I am the one who introduced Wasiu into the armed robbery gang. We live in the same area in Iyana- Itire area of Lagos state. I have a four-year- old daughter, I use proceeds from the robbery operations to train my daughter in school. I regret joining the group." he said The other member of the gang, Wasiu said he took to armed robbery his year "I joined the gang this year and I have also participated in five robbery operations in Lagos state. We are nine in the group. I was introduced into the gang by Afeez. I was at Mushin when he asked me to accompany him to Osohdi when the gang leader called him. When we got there, he told us to take a gun to his wife which was what we were doing when we were arrested. I have not made anything from the operations. If I ever get out of this, I will never rob again. I am a trained mechanic but I don’t like the work, that is why I joined the gang to make a living.” Wasiu said
